The Deadline is This Saturday, November 30th
Rev. Akahoshi will be back with us for the Bodhi Day and Shotsuki Service on December 1st. Our hearts have been with him wherever he goes, but we’ll be very happy to have him home.
Buddhism 1-2-3 will meet on the 4th and 11th. Please join us on Wednesday at 7 p.m. By providing your email address for the class, you will get updates on dates and class studies.
Tai chi will meet on the 5th, 12th & 19th this month
Crafts will meet on the on the 4th and 18th at 10 a.m.
Please Note: Our craft leader & organizer is retiring at the end of this month. If you would be interested taking over, please contact the temple. Otherwise, the craft group will no longer be held.

MOCHITSUKI will take place on December 8th, starting at 6 a.m. We will be making mochi and Kasane! If you haven’t come out before, come by and check out what you would like to do to help. If you want to order mochi or Kasane, don’t wait a minute more, call us today. The deadline to order is the end of November. There will not be a service this day. For more info, see page 10.
We will have a Sycuan Bus Trip on Wednesday, December 11th. Donation is $20 with an optional tip to the driver. Be at the temple at 7:45 a.m. and leave Sycuan at 2 p.m.
BTSD/VFW Bingo at 6 p.m. on Dec. 14th. Please come out and thank the VFW as they retire from the many years they have dedicated themselves to hosting bingo here with BTSD and contributing to the temple, like recovering the back steps with non-slip strips. We are going to miss having these guys around.
BTSD Holiday Office Hours
December 23, Monday -- 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
December 24, Tuesday -- 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
December 25, Wednesday -- Closed
The Temple Clean Up will take place on the 29th. See page 11 for details.
The Year End Service, Joya-E, will be held at 7 p.m. on the 31st, then the bell ringing, Joya No Kane, will take place on Shelter Island at 11:30 p.m. Remember that parking is scarce, so come early or ride share if you can.
Looking to January 2020 ~ The Year of the Rat
On January 1st the Shusho-E Service will be held at 10 a.m.
