Hopeful Planning for Retreat This Year

Rev. Dr. Kenji Akahoshi announces details of his 2021 retreat by planning the retreat while acknowledging uncertainty:

“Due to COVID, the retreat may have to be postponed until next year,” he writes. But he is hopeful it will still happen and wants to accommodate everyone who would like to attend.

“If you or others are interested, please send in the registration with NO payment. If the retreat is postponed until next year, and if there is sufficient interest, I will present the retreat at Zen Mt. Center then.”

Even if Postponed, 2022 Retreat Will Still Be in Southern California

As many of you know, earlier this year, Kenji Sensei announced his plans to retire by the end of summer 2021, at which time he will return to his hometown, San Jose. However, he wants to make sure people in Southern California can attend the retreat. Therefore, if the 2021 retreat is postponed, Kenji Sensei says, that if conditions allow the retreat will take place in the same location in 2022.

Either way, he says, “This may be the last retreat I conduct in Southern California,” Sensei writes, “although I will continue them in the Santa Cruz area.”
