Southern District Buddhist Conference Coming, June 25

 
 

“Peace, Harmony and Co-Existence Today” is the theme for this year’s annual Southern District Buddhist Conference. The hybrid event wil take place in-person on Saturday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Orange County Buddhist Church and will also be offered on a livestream platform. The in-person event will be conducted under OCBC’s COVID-19 protocol requirements.

The Buddhist Temple of San Diego invites interested Sangha members and Dharma friends to save the date and, if the would like, to register now for the conference by contacting the Temple. (As in years past, BWA members will register through our BWA; registrations are merged later before being sent to the Conference organizers.)

Rev. Kodo Umezu, former Bishop of the Buddhist Churches of America, will deliver the keynote address in both English and Japanese. His message will be based on a historic address he gave to the General Assmebly of the United Nations in 2011.

Early-bird registration fee is $25 per delegate. An optional bento (box lunch) is being offered for $12 for in-person attendees. The early-bird deadline is April 25. Regular registration fee will be $30 and will be due by June 10. Fees for online attendees only is $25 and will be due by June 17. All delegates are required to register and submit their payment made payable to the Buddhist Temple of San Diego.
