Two Dharma Opportunities

The Temple welcomes Rev. Diana Thompson, Resident Mnister at the Tri-State Denver Buddhist Temple, for two special events at the Buddhist Temple of San Diego.

Saturday Evening Special Lecture at 7 p.m.

Rev. Thompson will help us understand how the death of the Buddha — and how he chose to live his final hours — has meaning for how we live our lives today.. The event is free to Temple members and Dharma friends and guests are asked for a $5 donation to underwrite costs. The event is expected to last some 90 minutes with time for questions and answers. Light refreshments will be served.

Sunday Morning Nirvana Day Service and BWA Memorial Service Combined, at 10 a.m.

Nirvana Day. In our tradition we observe the anniversary of the death of the Buddha — when he passed into final Nirvana or extinguishment — with a major service in February.

BWA Memorial Service. The Buddhist Women’s Association (Fujinkai in Japanese) has helped the Temple since its founding and obeserve an annual memorial service memory of important women in the founding and development of this international organization. They also formally recognize the contribution of Buddhist women, now passed away, associated with our local chapter.
