Although the gates open at 4:30, for the convenience of the dancers some resources will be available sooner.
3:30 p.m. Some food vendors are planning to be open early.
3:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Changing Rooms are available for dancers. For those who wish assistance in putting on yukata or kimono, knowledgeable dressers are available to assist in several classrooms on the first floor of the Annex Hall. Female dancers will use room 5 for changing. Male dancers will use room 3. Please consider tipping the dressers for this service.
4:30 p.m. Gates open.
4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. HONDO OPEN. Our Hondo (main hall) includes our Buddhist altar and will be open to the public for viewing and reflection, as well as offering incense. We encourage all Bon Odori dancers to offer incense in the Hondo before the dancing begins.
5:00 p.m. to close. Large Obutsudan is available under the walkway near the double glass doors for the convenience of dancers and guests throughout the Odori..6.\:15 p.m. Dancers will line up in front of classrooms 4 and 5.
6:25 p.m. The dancer processional will come out with the Hatsubon families in the front, making one full circle around the yagura. Hatsubon Families will prepare to hang their lanterns. Bill Teague, CMA, will read the names of the deceased as the Hatsubon families provide their lanterns to be hung. Bill will welcome dancers and guests. Andrea Covarrubias will read “What is Obon”, and then Bill lead everyone in Gassho.
6:30 p.m. Emcee will announce the first song.
7:20 p.m. Halftime break. Juice and water will be shared with dancers. Taiko entertainment begins.
7:45 p.m. Dances resume.
8:45 p.m. Closing comments. Bill leads closing Gassho.
Jr. YBA Drawing held. Cleanup begins.
9:30 p.m. Anticipated completion of cleanup.
10:00 p.m. REMINDER: All parking lots with gates, those gates will be locked at 10 p.m.

Open before and after last practice on Wednesday, July 30, and from 4:30 p.m. on the day of the Bon Odori, Saturday, August 2. Great bargains on lightly used Asian items and many accessories for our dancers. All at bargain prices. All sales support the BTSD Scholarship Fund.
