Final Basic Buddhism Service, Sunday, August 30, @ 10 AM

Focus on You

Our special series on basic Buddhism concludes with a focus on the Buddha path before us, which requires both dedication and perseverance.

BTSD Resident Minister, Rev. Sterling Davenport. Rev. Davenport will share insights about what it means to continue on the Buddha path, as we learn the Dharma deeply enough to live the Dharma in our everyday lives.

As before, the session will last about an hour. We will meet in the top floor of our air-conditioned main building, in our Hondo or main hall.

By the end of this Sunday's session, we will have covered four big topics to better understand the Buddha and his teachings:

1. Before the Buddha was the Buddha: Indic concept of Ahimsa (non-harm); origin of the Middle Way

2. First Turn of the Wheel of Dharma: Three Jewels, Four Noble Truths, Eightfold Noble Path

3. Suffering and the World of Samsara: Acceptance and Transcendence

4. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas: Dedication and Perseverance

Please don't miss this final session.
