Temple Board Confirms Cancellations through May and into June, Likely Rescheduling of Bazaar

2020-03-23_Months-Ahead-Calendar-w288.jpg

On April 11 2020, the Temple Board met by web conferencing to look at the uncertainties ahead.

While resumption of services and events remains up in the air, the Board wishes to clearly state that future events and services are cancelled through June of this year. Moreover, because of the advanced planning required, the July Bazaar is almost certainly to be rescheduled. Details and a proposed date for the Temple Bazaar — our largest fundraiser, providing for Temple maintenance and upkeep — will follow the next meeting of the Activities Committee (again by web meeting software).

When the Temple Board first had to formally vote to close the Temlpe, it sent out this statement expressing its gratitiude to the Sangha. We are repeating it here with an update on our next meeting to review the situation:

We apologize for any inconvenience but with the COVID-19 situation, changes must be made at this time. The board will continue to monitor and re-evaluate the situation when it reconvenes for its meeting in [May] to determine future actions. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding during this very difficult and challenging time. Namu Amida Butsu.
