Turkey Syria Earthquake Relief

A 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Turkey and northern Syria on February 6, 2023, with a death toll that has already surpassed 40,000. Recent reports detail over 1,700 collapsed buildings, no power, and below-freezing temperatures. Southern Turkey is already home to 3.6 million refugees who have been displaced by this recent earthquake.

Our BCA, through its Social Welfare Fund will be sending a $20,000 donation for Turkey-Syria disaster relief, but more help will be needed in the coming weeks and months.

For those wishing to make a monetary donation, knowing that the funds will go directly to disaster relief efforts in Turkey and Syria, the quickest and most efficient way to do this is through Direct Relief. Direct Relief accepts donations through PayPal, Venmo, credit card, and bank transfer.

This non-profit organization is deploying urgently needed medical aid, including medication to treat people with injuries and pre-existing medical conditions, such as field medic packs, antibiotics, and other essential medicines, as well as oral rehydration solutions and hygiene items for those displaced from their homes. More than 22 tons of medical aid has been staged or is being shipped for Turkey and Syria.
