Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Drive Ends March 21
For our Sangha Members and Dharma Friends, you have three weeks or so to bring in food donations to the Temple for this food drive to beneift the San Diego Food Bank. Just note that the last day we are accepting donations is Saturday March 21. This one-day drive-in donation will be open in the Temple parking lot from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The Food Bank is publicizing drop off points in various neighborhoods and partners with the Interfaith Community for drop offs at places of worship.
Here is an example of that announcement, specific to March 21.
Support our neighbors in need by donating nonperishable food items during the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Community Food Drive on Saturday, March 21.
The Interfaith community of San Diego County is partnering with local businesses and organizations to collect nonperishable food donations for the San Diego Food Bank. Members of the community are invited to participate however they can.
Most Needed Food Items include:
Canned meat and fish
Canned vegetables
Canned fruit
Canned soup
Peanut butter
Oatmeal and cereal
Diapers and wipes
In addition, the Food Bank is also collecting diapers and baby wipes for a local nonprofit.
Whether donated the next time you come to the Temple or on the final “public” donation time on March 21, all donations go to the same place and help us give back to our community.
