We welcome Rev. Stacy Reardon, of the San Fernando Valley Hongwanji Temple, for two days of Dharma as we observe the Lady Eshinni and Lady Kakushinni Memorial service. Rev. Reardon, our guest speaker for Sunday's Lady Eshinni and Lady Kakushinni Memorial Service, has kindly come a day early so we can have another chance to hear the Dharma. Rev. Reardon comes to us from the San Fernando Valley Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.
Saturday, October 17, at 3 p.m.
On Saturday, in our Sangha Hall, the Buddhist Education Committee will host this lecture.
In this relaxed setting, Rev. Stacy will share insights into how the role of Shinran's wife and daughter were instrumental in the forming of our tradition.
The event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served. The event is expected to last an hour or more.
Note: We hope this lecture, during daylight hours, will allow more of you to join us. B.T.

Hello and thank you for your interest in the nature walk that I'll be l ading for the BTSD Dharma School Group/BTSD this upcoming Saturday, October 17. Based on the google responses, we will be having the walk/hike at the Ramona Grasslands Preserve. See both the address as well as the map pin of our meet up location which will begin at 8:30 am at the Preserve's staging area off of Highland Valley Road. The walk/hike will be 1.5-2 hours in length and is an easy hike with only a small elevation gain. There is no shade so please bring a hat/sunscreen and shoes with good traction as the hike is on dirt/sand. I also recommend bring some water and/or an electrolyte drink (Gatorade, etc.) .
Address: Ramona Grasslands Preserve, Highland Valley Rd, Ramona, CA 92065

If there are any topics you would like for me to go over or discuss, please email me directly and I would be happy to weave in some of these topics of interest. I will go over my background and qualifications before we head out. There are picnic benches if folks want to bring a small snack and enjoy it at the Preserve after the hike. Rev. Sterling, Valen, and I look forward to having you join us for this little adventure.

About Rev. Reardon
Rev. Stacy received Tokudo ordination in December 2023. She's been a Ministers Assistant at San Fernando for about 8 years. While Stacy did not grow up in a temple, she has been attending at San Fernando since her oldest daughter was born, so about 13 years. She has two children with her husband Eric: Rowan (13) and Charlotte (10). She will be completing her Kyoshi certification in June of 2027, with the hope of becoming a Kaikyoshi minister. She grew up in New York, and has a Masters of Fine Arts degree in film, so of course in her regular life, she is now a bookkeeper.
