Parking Options for Hatsubon/Obon Service and Bon Odori Aug. 1

Because our parking lot is devoted to the Bon Odori, please plan extra time to find parking. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation, and we thank our neighbors for allowing parking as shown below. Refer to the map (click on it to download a PDF) and see notes following for guidance.

Notes on Parking

For the Hatsubon/Obon Service

While the Service in the Hondo starts at 2 p.m., plan for enough time to find parking. Some street parking will be available in the neighborhood. Off-street parking options include

  • Businesses along Market— Only if Listed

    • United Fasteners (north side)

    • Napa Auto Parts (north side)

    • Lutz Tires and Repair (south side)

    • Ballpark Collision (south side), but don’t block cars already parked

    • Carpet Cushion Co. (south side), but only after 1 p.m.

  • Kimbrough Elementary School, front entrance (Hoitt Street)

Parking for the Bon Odori

Our Bon Odori activities start at 4:00 p.m. with most food trucks and booths ready to serve. There will be entertainment as well. The Bon Odori itself will start at 6:30 p.m. For parking, all of the above options exist, plus the two gated facilities shown below. These gates are locked at 10:00 p.m.

  • The Arc of San Diego Overflow Parking Lot

Enter from the north side of Market Street. This is the largest lot available to us, with over 100 spaces (estimated).

  • Kimbrough Elementary School, rear entrance (Dodson Street)

Enter from the west side of Dodson Street.
