Basics of Buddhism at BTSD, Three Sundays in August
At 10 a.m., each Sunday, on August 10, 17, and 24, the Buddhist Temple of San Diego will be hosting an informal educational and religious service on the basic concepts of Buddhism, from which all Buddhist sects originate.
August 10: Teachings before the Buddha became the Buddha: No Harm, and the Middle Way,
Bonus: What is a Bonbu?
August 17: What Buddhists mean by “Noble.” Four Noble Truths and the Three Poisons.
Bonus: What is a Bodhisattva?
August 24: Eightfold Noble Path; the Spiritual Life; Our Role in Samsara.
Bonus: What is a Buddha?
Dharma Leader: Bill Teague is a Certified Minister’s Assistant who helps with the Temple’s Buddhist Education Committee and has been a Temple Member for most of his adult life.
Sessions are expected to be informal and last just over an hour. Q&A and discussion will follow. Attendance is free, all are welcome. There is off-stree parking and ADA accessibility with the main entrance from the parking lot, through the double glass doors, and up to the top floor by elevator.
Our worship hall (Hondo, Japanese for main hall) is air-conditioned. Everyday dress is acceptable and no head coverings or removal of shoes required.
