It’s Fun and Easy

Odori Practices will be held on Sundays and Thursdays in the Annex. These rehearsals are a lot of fun and you will not only be reminded about our favorite dances — but will learn the dances new to this year.

The schedule follows

  • Thursday Practices: 11, 18, 25 & August 1 at 7 p.m.

  • Sunday Practices: 7, 14, & 21, 11 a.m.

Just a Peek

Here are videos of some Temple dancers at the recent Cherry Blossom Festival at the Japanese Friendship Garden.

Sakura Ondo - In honor of the beautiful and fragile sakura or cherry blossoms. We will depict viewing and appreciating the array of the delicate, pink cherry blossoms. (Sakura means "cherry").
Mottainai means to not be wasteful. The song reminds us that grandma tells us not to be wasteful, use every grain of rice, every drop of water.
"Akachan" meaning [crying] child.
